I am just a small town girl with really big dreams. I like to embrace things that are outside my norm. And believe me - city buses, eating squid, and using the metric system are not my norm; but I love it! I have found that although this city of giant buildings and constant lights is new and different from my home of vineyards and starry nights, they are equally beautiful and inspiring to me. Ever since I was a little girl I have aspired to be someone who makes a In six weeks, we have climbed mountains, worked at a vacation bible school with 45 children, taught English classes to youth and adults, attended young adult gatherings, learned how to read some Korean, traveled to historic Korean villages, visited a chili pepper community, walked through a bamboo forest, and eaten many exotic foods. What I take home from this experience is not the different locations and attractions I have been to, it is the relationships and memories that I have made and had with people. It is the little moments. Taking time out of a chaotic day to let a little girl teach me "twinkle little star" on the piano; laughing so hard we were crying; helping the ladies of the church make lunch; talking about the differences between Korea and America and how the church makes those differences seem so small. It’s the moment when you’re standing on the edge of a tower and looking over Seoul, realizing this world is not small, your hometown is. Its finding faith in God after you thought it was lost. For me, as an overseas volunteer it didn’t mean I was at the forefront feeding the hungry, or healing the ill, yet I feel God has given me the opportunity to do God’s work, spreading my love and my passion for life in that place. The best part of God's work is that it allows growth for the people around you, and growth for you as person. It’s not about just preaching peace, it’s about living it. I will walk away from this trip as an expanded person, knowing more about my own culture as well as learning of a new one, both of which have changed my life for the better. I just hope that throughout my life I get the opportunities to really show this world what I'm made of: peace, love, and happiness.

difference in the world. My passion is to experience life and to build relationships with many cultures and mutually grow together! I’m thankful my time with the World Service Corps has done exactly that.
